Enthroned came to life in 1993 by the hand of Cernunnos – the same hand that took his life in 1997. The intent was to combine the most extreme form of sound with his belief and lifestyle within Theistic Satanism and the Occult. Cernunnos was later joined by bass player/vocalist Sabathan and guitar player Tsebaoth, and in 1995 they recorded the band’s first album. Nornagest joined on lead guitar and vocals that same year. Enthroned have released albums on labels such as Osmose Productions, Blackend Records, Napalm Records and Regain Records, and have been touring worldwide in support of various releases. The line-up has been subject to many changes over the course of the years, and vocalist Sabathan was replaced in 2006 due to musical and ideological differences. Nornagest took over the lead vocals, and the band have taken their concept to greater depths ever since. 2010 saw Enthroned embark upon their wildly successful first world tour, and ink a new deal with Poland’s Agonia Records. Through the label, Enthroned released “Sovereigns” in 2014, marking the 10th album in the band’s career, and the first one featuring the band as a quintet. “Sovereigns” was recorded at Blackout Studio in Brussels, owned by Phorgath (bass) and Neraath (lead guitars).
